The
storage system is unique in
that it is the only
one on the market to
collapse and break
down to fit in a smaller
package for shipping,
display, and storage.
The
water storage part
consists of a decorative
two-piece collapsible
cardboard box, an internal
frame that can be broken
down or folded up,
and a collapsible water
bladder that can be
refilled.
The
bladder has a hose molded to
it. This allows
the water to flow by
gravity to the water
shut-off valve. This
valve is most unique
due to its simple but
effective design.
The
valve consists of a
few basic parts; valve
body, a magnetic float,
a steel ball and a
seat. As the water
enters the top of the
valve, the water movement
is stopped by a steel
ball resting on a seat,
or outlet, at the bottom
of the valve. A float
with a magnetic plate
slides up or down on
the valve shaft creating
a magnetic pull on
the steel ball inside
the valve.
This
up and down movement
of the float is
created by the escaping
water at the bottom
of the valve into the
tree stand due to the
use of water by the
tree, or evaporation.
As the float drops
to a pre-determined
point on the base of
the valve, the magnet
and steel are attracted
to each other causing
the ball to release
from the seat.
This
starts the water flowing.
As the water level
in the bowl or stand
rises, the ball is
lifted up the inside
of the valve’s
shaft. As the ball
inside the shaft/body
reaches a predetermined
point, the ball is
broken free from the
magnetic hold by a
stop placed in the
shaft/body. The ball,
free from the magnetic
hold, falls back down
to the seat, thus stopping
the flow of water.
- All metal parts are
coated to prevent corrosion
- The valve operation
is directly opposite
standard ball and seat
valve configurations
- The entire unit fits
and displays in a 12” x
12” x 2 ½” shelf
box
